Volunteer partners on variety of needs

Who says that volunteering can’t be fun?  Recently seven from the St. Croix Regional Medical Center Volunteer Partners attended the WHA (Wisconsin Hospital Association) Partners state convention.  The theme of the convention was “Volunteers…our Everyday Heroes.”

While in Stevens Point, there was some seriousness; a CEO panel from hospitals around the state sharing how their hospitals are responding to recent healthcare issues, a speaker who spoke to us about “attracting” volunteers as opposed to “recruiting”, and of course the annual business meeting.  However, workshops were all about us, what we can do for ourselves to keep us healthy and strong in our volunteer positions.

The past two years volunteers have worked with SCRMC on ways to assist them with the opioid epidemic. Our focus for the next two years will be mental health.  If you are interested in being a part of this group who is making a difference, please contact Mickey, at SCRMC, 715-483-0331.
