A property owner on 318th Street in Lent Township was cited for burning prohibited materials April 9. The DNR field truck assisted with extinguishing a “hot spot” remaining. Incident happened about 3:20 p.m.
Also April 9 a two-vehicle crash was handled by the sheriff’s office, at Lofton and County Road 14, north of Lindstrom. It was reported about 3:20 p.m. The full report is pending-- but authorities could report that a Brooklyn Park woman, 24, was cited for failing to yield while making a turn. The driver of the second vehicle, Lindstrom resident 51-year- old James Boettcher, was transported.
A report taken at the sheriff’s Harris District Office, claims that it appears sand was being taken illegally over the winter from a site. When property owner is able to get all the way into the pit he’ll report back.
April 11 a house and garage were fully engulfed when three departments were dispatched about 5:45 a.m. to a fire on Matthew Drive, Chisago City. The property owner was checked out by EMS and not injured. Cause has not been officially identified yet.
A report of a possible violation of an order for protection when a woman and two children were allegedly made to go with a male against their will. The incident began at an address in Chisago City about 6 p.m. and resulted in a multi-agency alert being disseminated describing the vehicle, suspect and alleged victims. The children were located but the woman was not.
April 12 a report about noon, of a naked male on the freeway in North Branch “running through the snow.” State Patrol and North Branch got help from the sheriff patrol car in apprehending the man and he was brought to Fairview Medical Center reportedly to get care for whatever chemical substance he obviously had consumed.
April 13 a veterinary business in Lindstrom reported many thousands of dollars worth of medical supplies stolen in a forced entry burglary.
April 14 a Shafer business reported a theft by an employee, alleged to have been caught on surveillance video. The county sheriff’s office is investigating.
Horses loose near 350th and County Road 9 about 4 p.m. were redirected back to their enclosure by deputies.
Lakes Area Police were called to a report of theft from Kwik Trip, Chisago City. They were unable to locate the suspect or vehicle.
