A tree was blown onto a powerline on Broadway in Lindstrom and Xcel and Lindstrom fire sent crews. There were multiple calls of powerlines downed and trees blocking roads after the Sunday storm activity.
Several mailboxes were reported damaged in the area north of Center City, in the vicinity of Oriole Avenue and Park Trail July 28.
An assault was called in reporting two assailants had hurt a male victim at the Legion, in Rush City. Report was received at 3 a.m. One was transported to Regions.
A pitbull dog reportedly bit a man July 28 who was running on the roadway, on Ivywood Trial, Chisago City. Report and photos were collected.
A BMX style bike was dumped on Andrews Avenue and Lakes Area Police took it into storage. Call the police offices in Lindstrom and describe it to claim.
July 27 a crash on south Olinda Trail near Panola, resulted in citations for unsafe U-turn. The incident was reported about 5:30 p.m. and authorities were told two cars had missed their turn southbound, and the first one turned back and the second car also made a U-turn, but was struck by a third car coming in the southbound lane as well. No injuries reported.
July 26 Lakes Area Police did tobacco sales compliance checks and two businesses failed and sold to underage decoy buyers. There were nine sites checked.
Sheriff’s patrol took a call of a theft of a utility trailer from a Taylors Falls address. Many pieces of equipment missing with the trailer.
Taylors Falls rescue teams were dispatched to what was believed to be a fall from rocks on the St. Croix, a little before noon. The female hiker had actually slipped onto a ledge and needed help getting back up to the top, which was accomplished. Lakes Region EMS said she checked out fine medically.
July 25 a fire on Oriole Avenue in Sunrise Twsp. was cited for prohibited materials and for being too large and uncontrollable.
Also July 25 a male goat was running loose near Pioneer and Indian Trail rural Chisago City. Officers were unable to collect the animal.
July 22 a dog on dog bite incident reported on 278th in Chisago City. Owners are reportedly working things out for restitution. Another dog bite incident on Furuby Road, resulted in the victim seeking to have the dog quarantined for rabies verification for 10 days. Owner was agreeable to this when the responding sheriff deputy addressed the situation.
