Sheriff’s deputies received a complaint early Wednesday last week, of a man making threats over a Facebook page who had allegedly shown up at the home of the person receiving the messages and was armed. The complainant said he saw a long gun inside the car the suspect was driving, with the muzzle tipped up out the window. The incident happened at an address on 420th near Harder Avenue, about 2:29 a.m. A drone unit was deployed to locate the alleged suspect by air but was unsuccessful at spotting anything on trails near the home.
Later, Lino Lakes Police notified Chisago County the suspect’s vehicle had arrived at a house that Lino Lakes was watching, known to be the suspect’s address. He was arrested and taken to Forest Lake, where the sheriff personnel took custody. Scott Wendlin Linderman, 56, is charged with second degree assault attempted harm with firearm.
July 29 a woman on the Swedish Immigrant Regional Trail was pepper-sprayed by a suspect she said was an older man with glasses, in the vicinity of the trail west of Shafer, east of Center City. She apparently had a dog with her, off-leash barking at the man, and the dog was also sprayed. As she tried to collect the dog she said she was also hit with the substance. Her spouse reported the incident to a sheriff squad running radar a little ways away.
Lakes Area Police were called to assist in apprehending suspected burglars at residences in the Glen Oak neighborhood of Wyoming. Wyoming Police report a neighbor called in suspicious activity about noon.
There were four arrests made. Two male suspects are from Forest Lake and one female 18 year old has a Center City address, the fourth was not immediately identified.
Also July 29 a truck caught fire on Rush Point Drive West at Rush Pt. Drive Circle about 12:40 in the afternoon. Cambrdge Fire was dispatched. No injuries reported.
July 30 Lakes Area Police collected a stray Labrador dog in the area of Jason Avenue, Chisago City. To either contact Northwoods Humane Society or dog may still be at Lakes Area Police storage.
August 1 Lakes Area performed alcohol sales compliance checks at 11 locations and no violations were reported.
A set of keys was found on Oakman Avenue in the area of 268th. Call police offices and describe to claim.
There was a ruling of a potentially dangerous dog with an address on Ivywood. An independent hearing officer made the determiniation and dog owner will need to follow safety and containment guidelines to be able to keep the dog.
August 2
The Xcel substation in Lent Township had a fire reported about 2:37 a.m. Stacy-Lent responded and put it out but there was a re-ignite a little later. Xcel media staff were not immediately available for comment.
August 3
A two vehicle cash on #30 at the Oaklawn Cemetery, Harris, was reported at 3:42 p.m. Nobody was hurt but the cars were disabled, according to sheriff deputy reports. One car was southbound on old 61 and went to turn left into the cemetery, crossed in front of the second northbound car that struck this vehicle.
August 4 Lakes Area officers went to help the county on a report of a fight at a party on 244th Street. Sheriff’s office managed the scene.
