Well if you are like me, this whole hands-free thing is a major change in life. Of course it’s a great law and should have been implemented years ago, but yet I am still having a bit of a time adjusting.  I was never a text and drive person, but I certainly was a read a text person (I know it’s just as bad).  

I recently purchased a bluetooth speaker that connects with my phone when you get in the vehicle.  So far, it has worked out. It sounds like I am listening through a Campbells soup can, but it does work.  

As I am writing this I just watched video of the truck driver coming down the hill in St. Croix Falls and nearly killing  other drivers and pedestrians......maybe I can like this soup can sound...

I can’t believe the summer went so fast that it is already Threshing Show time again.  On Sunday the caravan of local tractors with fun loving people on trailers, pulled behind,  made its way across the county to the Almelund Threshing Grounds on Highway 95.  

The grounds are the spot where all the fun starts.  The gates open at 10 am Friday with the super-popular tractor pulls staring at 4 pm.  Way Back When is the band at the dance in the beer garden Friday night.  

Saturday your kids can enter a kids pedal tractor pull for ages 5-10 years of age.  At 2 pm on Saturday there is an antique tractor pull and 340 Magnum Band will play at the beer garden Saturday night.

Sunday there is a church service at 9 am followed by tractor pulls at noon.  At 4 pm they will be giving away a tractor and a quilt which you can purchase raffle tickets for inside the event. This year’s tractor being raffled is a Cockshutt 540.

As always there is a tractor parade that meanders around the grounds at 1 pm.

I love the Threshing Show, it’s a casual get together with friends and neighbors in such a cool setting.   we will see you there!

Thanks to all who came out to support the Relay for Life event on Friday night. It was quite hot, but that didn’t seem to bother any of the attendees.  

There is an awesome Chisago Lakes Community Meal that the entire Chisago Lakes community is invited to Thursday (today).  The meal is served at Zion Lutheran Church from 3:30 pm to 6 pm and is a free will offering.
