A bear was struck by two vehicles that were traveling northbound on Hwy. 30 in the Harris and Old Sawmill Road area. Reported about 9:30 p.m. Bear was killed. No injuries to drivers but cars sustained damages.
Lakes Area Police were called to assist county in arresting suspect at Redfiled Blvd. in Shafer, about 10:30 p.m. Perimeter was established and arrest made without incident.
August 7 the county made out a ticket to the first offender of the hands-free cellphone law.
A stolen vehicle was recovered in Chisago City, at North Avenue and Lofton.
Theft of a “red lawnmower” from an address on 305th Shafer reported. Loss is about $400.
