Ki Chi Saga Days was awesome, hands free - a work in progress

Ki Chi Saga Days was awesome, hands free - a work in progress

What a great weekend for Ki Chi Saga Days!  Other than a little wind late on Saturday night, it was absolutely beautiful.  I spent a lot of time up town enjoying the festivities and there were people everywhere.  Sunday we had a nice breeze for the parade which is normally a scorcher, so that was great.

I took pictures at the ribbon cutting of the brand new  pavillion in Moberg Park.  Wow, wow, wow is that beautiful.  Straight Line Builders did such a great job! What a great addition to the city and such a great sight to visitors passing through town.  They also did a great job with new permanent bathrooms as well.  I always liked the old white gazebo in Moberg Park, but this new pavillion makes me forget with its beauty and sheer size.

Thanks to all who worked to make this year’s Ki Chi Saga Days such a great time.  These folks worked their tails off to ensure you and I had a good time.

Congratulations to Keith Green, Mary Jo Klemz and Sandy Stromberg for being winners in the Ki Chi Saga Days cribbage tournament held at the Uncommon Loon.

So if you are like me, many of you aren’t, and have an older vehicle, you know the new hands-free law is certainly proving to be a challenge. Not to say I was a texting driver before, but now that it is the law I have made it a point to not engage my phone in the least.  I purchased one of those bluetooth speakers that hangs from your visor which connects to your phone as soon as you get in your vehicle. Pretty cool right? Yes, except for the fact that she (siri or the genie in the speaker) misinterprets absolutely everything I say. “Call Cheryl” (my wife) turns into “Calling the Sheriff” or if I say “Call Helen” (family friend) it turns into “Calling for Help”.

To make matters worse, I am convinced if I speak up or lean closer to the speaker it will work better.

Now picture seeing Matt in traffic leaning about four inches from his windshield screaming at the top of his lungs...I am gonna either get shot because people are thinking I am yelling at them or arrested for road rage.  Technology - man how did I ever live without it?

Remember the community is always invited to free community meals at Zion Lutheran Church on Monday evenings. See you there!
