A motorcyclist had to stop abruptly on Hwy. 8 at Moberg Park, when traffic became congested during Ki-Chi-Saga Days and his passenger was hurt when he dropped the motorcycle. Incident reported at 1 p.m. The passenger was transported to Fairview in Wyoming.
Several false alarms were responded to in the Lakes Area Police sevice territory, some attributed to stormy weather.
August 15 sheriff’s deputies looked into a dumping complaint on 345th in the township. Four garbage bags filled with remodel project debris were left on the road for the township to clean-up.
August 14 a burglary reported at 6 p.m. at address on Lofton in Chisago City, resulted in an arrest. An off-duty officer assisted in apprehending a suspect.
A crash on Kost Trail at 375th was called in about 11:45 p.m. Lone female driver was transported to Cambridge Hospital by Lakes Region. Almelund First Responders were also on scene. The car rolled and came to rest in a ditch.
Power washer reported as stolen appeared on Facebook, reported by former owner to authorities.
August 13 a complaint of vandalism by a truck, delivering landscaping materials that drove through an alfalfa field next to the delivery property. Incident was on Sunrise Road.
A property owner near 315th in Lent Twsp. was the subject of complaints about noise when he fires a cannon in “salute.” Deputy recommended the cannon be used only on special occasions if possible.
August 12 a boat abandoned at Shoquist Landing, Chisago City, was towed. Owner could not be located.
