Harold is survived by his loving wife of 61 years, Janice, of Lindstrom MN; his son Daniel (Pamela) of St. Cloud, MN; daughter Pamela Fischer of Rock Springs, WY; son Matthew (Julie), of Edina, MN; his seven grandchildren, Cassidy (Nate) Zavala, Taylor, Croix (Evan) Estright, Hannah, Adeline, Andrew, and Ainsley; and great-grandson Ellis Zavala.
Harold was born on February 5, 1935, in Bock, MN to Dan and Mabel Lovaas. He graduated from Mora High School in 1953, after which he served in the United States Army. He later went on to have careers in the IT industry, small business ownership (as owner of the Lindstrom Hardware Hank from 1976-1984) and maintenance with the City of St Paul, MN. Harold was a great family man and a loving father, grandfather, and great-grandfather. He married Marlene Janice Mikkelson on August 20, 1958 and the couple had three children. Harold was a social, active man who was deeply involved in his church. His faith in Christ meant everything to him. He also enjoyed cross-country skiing, fishing and spending time with his family. His family and friends will always remember him as a friendly face who was always willing to lend a helping hand.
A funeral was Saturday, November 30 at Lakes Free Church in Lindstrom, MN, with a reception following. All are welcome to attend and celebrate Harold’s life. Arrangements by the Grandstrand Funeral Home in Lindstrom. Condolences may be expressed online at www.grandstradnfh.com
