December 4 at about 3:42 p.m. the 9-1-1 dispatcher took a report of a man being shot at south of Chisago City, at an address on Keystone Avenue.  The sheriff patrol, Lakes Area Police and various surrounding law enforcement agencies responded. Washington County K9 unit assisted.  

The complainant was not hit, and he told authorities the alleged assailant, identified as 49 year old Roger Palme, had fled.  

Palme was appreheded after a search of the area and he was unarmed.  The alleged suspect and the caller are relatives.

The first big snowfall of the season brought  saw a number of vehicles sporting  overnight parking tickets from police and sheriff personnel,  enforcing on-street parking violations throughout the county.  Tickets went out in Rush City to Chisago City and in some cases warnings were written.  There is no overnight parking on city streets until April.  Plowtruck drivers need to have an unobstructed roadway to plow.  If you have guests who need parking space  or a special circumstance contact your local law enforcement authority.

November 29 the staff at Lindstrom Holiday managed to contain a fuel spill to just a few gallons lost,  but the driveway access off eastbound Hwy 8 was closed off for a time until firefighters and police responded and assessed the incident. The spill was reported about 10:30 a.m. Friday.

A male was cited for property damage for cutting a cord for an electronic device during Taylors Falls Lighting festival. Loss was $63.

There are still tickets being written to drivers for using cellphones while in traffic. One male told the officer he was unaware the cell phone law had changed to Hands-Free.

November 28 a recovered stolen Jeep Compass reported in a filed near Harder Avenue and Sunrise Road.  The vehicle registration came back as a Minneapolis stolen.

A number of vehicles were reported in ditches and in minor accidents over the stormy periods.

November 26 a student allegedly brandished a knife threatening another juvenile on a school bus.  The incident was reported from the Chisago Lakes High School about 3:30 p.m. A suspect was taken into custody.
