Sunday, February 24 People called 9-1-1 for aid when they became stranded, out ice fishing, as blowing and drifting snow closed in, and poor visibility was creating hazardous conditions.  Calls were for persons on Green Lake and Chisago Lake. Four sheriff deputies, some on snowmobiles, and a  plow truck helped several people back to public lake access on Green Lake, and the Chisago Lake distress call involved a vehicle stuck in snow.  Incidents were all before noon.

A sheriff’s patrol deputy, North Branch Police and state patrol were at the scene of a three vehicle crash on I-35 February 22, about 2:30 p.m.  Early information is that a northbound Nissan ran into the rear end of a Chev Tahoe, stopped in freeway traffic approximately at Hwy. 95, North Branch. The Tahoe and Nissan went into a Ford Fusion, and the vehicles ended up in the ditch.  

The driver of the Nissan was transported with a serious injury.  State Patrol identified him as Duane Dumonceaux, 45, from Lino Lakes.

Driver of the Fusion, a 35-year-old Braham man and the Tahoe driver, also from Lino Lakes, age 58, were not seriously hurt.

North Memorial and Lakes Area EMS helped at the scene.

Also February 22 a bag of tools was found in Center City. The value is estimated around $1,000. To claim call the sheriff’s office, 213-7103 and describe items.

February 22 there was a gas stove leak detected in Chisago City, on Karmel Ave. reported about 9:30 p.m.  Chisago City firefighters shut-off gas, no injury reported.  

February 20 a ShihTzu type small dog, black and white, picked up as a stray in Chisago City. Northwoods Humane Society has the animal.

February 19 two natural gas leaks reported at Lacy Avenue and Meadowlark Lane.  Xcel handled both incidents.

Vehicle fire reported in Sunrise Twsp. about 2:45 p.m. Incident was near Holman and 460th.

A crash at Olinda Trail and Hwy 8, in Lindstrom,  reported about 3:15 p.m. A female was transported, requiring mental health care. No injuries reported.

A ring was turned in to police, found outside of Lake Area Bank in Lindstrom. Call Lakes Area Police 651-257-0622 and describe to claim.
