Norman will always be remembered as a kind-hearted gentleman, patient husband, loving father, multi-talented artist, creative professor, and man of God.
Norman discovered his gift as an artist at an early age, and it grew into a lifelong career and ministry. He worked as an art professor at the University of Northwestern – St. Paul for many years. Some of his work that continues to touch lives can be viewed at www.kaupangdesign.com.
He married Gloria Niemeyer on September 30, 1972 and was a faithful husband and a loving father of three children. A deep-rooted trust in his Savior and Lord guided his walk through life and into eternity.
Norman is survived by his wife Gloria, children, Jennifer (Nathan) Shuga of Maple Grove, Tory (Casey) Kaupang of Centerville, and Andrew (Laura) Kaupang of Carver, two grandchildren, Greyden, 6 and Graham, 4 and a grandson arriving this month.
A Celebration of Norman’s life will be held Sunday, January 6, 2019 at Kost Evangelical Free Church, 37405 Kost Trail, North Branch, MN 55056. The service will be held at 2 p.m., with a visitation one hour prior and a reception to follow.
A private interment will follow at Pleasant View Memorial Gardens. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations can be given in honor of Norman to the Kaupang family and mailed to the funeral home at: Grandstrand Funeral Home, PO Box 686, Lindstrom, MN 55045.
