Kathy Hammond Bankson, loving mother, grandmother, and friend, died peacefully on January 8, 2019 at Meadows on Fairview in Wyoming, MN at the age of 74.
 
She was born in Gary, Indiana and was raised in St. Paul, MN.  She was a 1962 graduate of Washington Senior High School, St. Paul.  After graduating from Globe Business College, she started her career at Economics Laboratory in St. Paul.  In 1976 she moved her family to Livingston, MT and later to Helena, MT. She owned and operated Kayette’s School of Dance for 28 years.  In 2003 she moved to California.  She retired from Edward’s Bookkeeping in Valley Center, CA in 2016, and moved back to Minnesota to spend more precious time with her family. She loved dancing, casino trips, watching Dancing with the Stars, cheering for Augsburg basketball, and spending time with family and friends.  
She was preceded in death by mother Bonita Hammond; father Gerald Hammond; brother Gene Hammond; and husband Stan Bankson.
 
She is survived by son Richard (Kelly) Duncan, grandsons, Kyle, Christopher and Carter; sister in law Gwen Hammond; niece Donna Robbins; beloved fur baby Punky; and several very special friends.

A family service will be held in the spring, and Kathy will be laid to rest at Mormon Coulee Memorial Park in LaCrosse, WI.
