Gladys P. Muncil was born in Lindstrom, Minnesota on March 8, 1926.  She passed away peacefully on January 15, 2019.  She was the eldest of nine children born to William George and Hildur Nelson.  Hildur used to say she had a girl for every day of the week and two boys for Sunday.  

Gladys attended Chellberg Country School until it closed in 1940.  She then attended the Lindstrom-Center City School.  After graduation she worked at the Court House in Center City.  She later relocated to the Twin Cities where she was employed at Prudential Insurance until she retired.  

On May 28, 1962 she married John Muncil, who preceded her in death in 1989.

Gladys loved working in her yard, gardening and raising flowers.  In her spare time she enjoyed working crossword puzzles and reading.  Gladys was a doting Aunt to her many nieces and nephews and to the neighborhood children as well.  She was an active member of Peace Lutheran Church in Coon Rapids, Minnesota.

Gladys is preceded by husband John, parents, and siblings Evelyn Nelson, Charles D. Nelson, and Marian Bleifuss.  She is survived by siblings Lorraine Russ, May Givens, Janet Nelson, Darlene (Kurt) Jones, and John (Judy) Nelson; as well as nieces, nephews, five step-daughters, and friends.  

Funeral Services were held at 11a.m., Friday, January 18, 2019 at Peace Lutheran Church in Coon Rapids, Minnesota.
