High school incident investigated
Authoities looked into an alleged threat overheard in a Chisago Lakes bathroom and reported about 9:30 p.m. January 17. The caller said other students who he did not know,  said they were going to “shoot up the school.”  Details were not overheard.  

Early the following day (Friday) the principal and superintendent released a statement that no credible threats were determined and there was no imminent danger to students in school Friday.  Dean Jennissen and David Ertl ended the statement, saying, “We treat all reports of threats seriously and always practice an abundance of caution as we keep school safety at the forefront of what we do.  We are proud to be able to rely on our strong partnerships with students, staff, families, law enforcement and community to help ensure our district remains safe each and every day.”

In the county incident reports there were several calls involving deer...cars in the ditch avoiding the deer and collisions, but no serious injury to any drivers.
January 20

A residential burglary was reported at a trailer park address in Stacy.

January 19 a driver told deputies that he swerved to miss a deer and struck a pole on 367th in Sunrise. Crash was reported about 10:15 p.m.  No injuries documented and Xcel was dispatched to repair equipment.

A gasoline no pay/drive off called in at 8:30 p.m. at Tesoro in Lent Township reportedly involved stolen license plates on the suspect vehicle.  North Branch Police had taken the original plate theft report.

January 17 a fire report to dispatch about 6:45 p.m. to an address in Shafer Township turned out to be for a horse in distress needing help getting to  its feet.  Almelund Fire Department responded.

January 15 a brush fire was reported at Allemansratt Park, off Olinda Trail, about 4:45 p.m.  Lindstrom Fire Dept. was dispatched and contained the incident.

Also Jan. 15 a narcotics arrest was made when an employee at Shafer One Stop, at approximately 7 a.m.,  called in a “suspicious male.”  Checking business video the responding deputy noticed the suspect had ditched a duffel bag near the building,  before entering the convenience store.  Contents allegedly included a container that tested positive for meth.  The man had an Isanti County warrant and he was apprehended.
