January 26 Lakes Area Police, sheriff’s patrol and state patrol were involved in a road incident what ended with a DUI arrest, and began as a hit and run reported about 3 p.m.  

Cars collided at Hwy 95 and Hwy 8 and a passenger vehicle believed to have been responsible for the incident was reported speeding off, westbound on #8.  

Lakes Area Police and state patrol managed to pull over and detain the female driver at Akerson and Andrews,  in Lindstrom, near the lighted intersection at Hwy 8 and made the arrest there.

A bicycle was turned into the Lakes Area Police after being found abandoned at an address on Broadway, in Lindstrom.  Call police and describe bike to claim.

Two electronic cigarette tickets issued over the week, for students who possessed e cig (nicotine) delivery devices at Chisago Lakes High School.

There was a report of a fight at a home on Second Avenue in Lindstrom,  about 1 a.m. Jan. 26. A 21-year old male was arrested when he allegedly became aggressive towards responding officers.

A new identifty theft scam was reported into Lakes Area Police by a local resident.  A caller says they are with your pharmacy and need to verify a customer date of birth.  Never give your birth date, social security number or other personal information over the phone unless you have initiated the conversation.

January 25 counterfeit $50 bills are showing up  at businesses in Chisago City.  Authorities get a video still photo that will be helpful investigating the suspect believed to be passing the currency.

About 10 p.m. a break-in theft,  damaging the coin machine at the Center City Laundromat reported. Claimed loss is several hundred dollars.

January 24 there is a report of missing specially trained therapy dog. The animal is small, brown and white, dachsund mix and was in the King’s Bluff neighborhood of Chisago City.
