Joanne Luana McCormick, age 79 of Shafer, died Tuesday, June 25, 2019, at Parmly on the Lake in Chisago City.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Ivan and Luana; husband Kenneth in 2000; grandson Ryan; and two brothers, Richard and James.  Joanne is survived by her three sons, Michael (Tina Baker), Kevin (Pam), and Jeff (Lena); grandchildren, Kyle and Kacy, Matthew (Pam), Jarad (Megan), Brandon, and Breckan, and Aran (Ellen), Mikayla, and Cole; three great-grandchildren, Alex, Tyler, and Aiden; sisters, Yvonne Stamm and Sharon Dupre; also many nieces and nephews.

Joanne was born September 29, 1939, in Forest Lake to Ivan and Luana (Hauble) Proulx.  She was a 1957 graduate of Forest Lake High School.  Joanne was united in marriage to Kenneth McCormick on October 18, 1957 in Forest Lake.  She was a homemaker and assisted with her family’s company, McCormick and Sons Log Homes.  Joanne was a member of the Red Hat Society and Womens Lions club.  She enjoyed arts and crafts, and camping and fishing in the Boundary Waters area.

A Memorial visitation was held Saturday June 29, 2019, noon until 3 p.m. at the Grandstrand Funeral Home of Lindstrom.  Memorials are preferred in her memory to a charity of the donor’s choice.
