Known simply as “Vicki”, she was kind, humble and selfless. Her infectious smile and sense of humor brightened the cloudiest of days. Vicki was an avid quilter, skilled seamstress and involved in local schools and churches. She could be seen around the community helping others, organizing events and selling her hand-made creations at craft fairs. She was incredibly creative and loved making quilts and crafts as well as designing and sewing clothing alongside her daughter. Outside of her sewing room, watching basketball, gardening and canning were hobbies she had a passion for - and if you’ve ever tasted her pickles, you’d know she was truly gifted. She loved spending time with her sisters and family, and looked forward to weekends spent with them. Later in life, she found great joy in her grandchildren; laughing with them, teaching them to bake, making costumes and finding odd treasures they would love.
She is survived by her husband of 48 years Dan; children, Erin (David) Duffey, Saint Paul, MN; Brendan (Crystal) McNally and their children, Braelyn, Calen and Nolan, Jordan, MN; Bridget McNally (Riley Lealos) and their son, Emmitt, Kenai, AK; mother, Blanche Van Kempen, Morris, MN; brother, Steve (Jill) Van Kempen, Morris, MN; sister, Judy (Steve) Soderholm, Alexandria, MN; sister, Jane (Mark) Murphy, Glenwood, MN; sister, Louise "Lulu" (Dewey) Angrimson, Lindstrom, MN; Nancy (Jim) Weiler, Morris, MN; Mary (Per) Nilsen, Mendota Heights, MN; John (Chris) Van Kempen, Elbow Lake, MN and many nieces and nephews.

Mass of Christian Burial will be held 11 am, Tuesday, July 30, 2019 at St. Bridget’s Church of Sweden in Lindstrom with a visitation one hour prior to the service, followed by luncheon in the social hall.
