Get out to Harmony in the Park; Let's Go Fishing needs you
I have said it before and I will say it to the day I die, we have some of the greatest readers and advertisers that make this paper what it is. What we do as far as putting it together is minimal - it’s you the reader and you the advertiser that make this paper a success. We are eternally grateful to you.
The folks that make up Let’s Go Fishing are looking for volunteers.
In the past, volunteers would be required to use their own boats to take elderly and military veterans out on local fishing excursions. But the group now has a couple of beautiful pontoons that volunteers may use to make these people’s days.
It is a few hours out of your day usually a beautiful day out on the lake. I guarantee it will be one of the most rewarding things you ever do. If you would like to volunteer please give them a call at 651-402-5960.
As I wrote last week, summer is officially here.
That means Harmony in the Park has officially began. We are now into week three this coming week and the headliner will be Buddy Holly & the Winter Dance Party. This week (yesterday) was a Garth Brooks tribute band that was awesome I hear. Look for the schedule in this Press and every week during the summer.
Summer also means the start of Farmer's Markets. We have the luxury of having two wonderful farmers markets right in our neighborhood. Chisago City has already begun their markets which run Friday afternoon and evenings in Moberg Park (downtown) and Lindstrom will soon follow beginning in July and running Wednesdays and Saturdays in St. Bridget’s Catholic Church parking lot (across from Holiday). There is nothing like getting fresh fruit or vegetables locally grown, so fresh and so tasty.
