An ATV sparked a grass fire on 475th in Sunrise Township about 3 p.m. Rush City Fire dept. put the fire out.
June 11 a dog bite reported as a person walked past a home on 279th and Olinda, in Lindstrom. Lakes Area Police are evaluating the incident. The animal was a shepherd/pitbull mix. Puncture wounds in the victim’s thigh were given medical attention.
A theft of benches from a dock at an address off Jonquil Drive reported.
A snapping turtle was scooped up with a shovel by an officer responding to a call for assistance at an address on Newlander Ave. Lindstrom. The turtle was relocated to a less populated area.
Casey’s in Chisago City had a counterfeit $10 bill in the daily bank deposit. Authorities are investigating.
Tuesday, June 11 area law enforcement did a patrol saturation targeting passing on the right. Highway 8 and Forest Blvd. or #30 were locations with the most citations.
June 12 a fire hydrant reported damage likely by a large truck, extra large axle. Damages are about $1,500. Hydrant is at Lofton and Liberty Lane in Chisago City.
June 13
A powerline in the area of County Road 14 and 316th was down and Xcel came to repair. The road was closed-off around noon for a while.
June 14 an alarm at the motel on Sportsmens Drive, Chisago City went off around 9 a.m. Chisago City firefighters responded and it turned out to be a burnt breakfast.
A chocolate Lab dog was found dead on St. Croix Trail at Mica Avenue, about 8:20 a.m.. No identification was with the animal. Deputies tried a few residences nearby and did not locate the owner.
June 15 the sheriff K9 unit was summoned to help with a warrant arrest on a male suspect in North Branch about 8:30 p.m. The man had fled authorities from an address on Golden Oaks Circle. He was apprehended later.
June 16 Lakes Area Police looked into a complaint of a bear that seemed to have no fear of people, as it came into an occupied yard near Lakeside School about 9:30 p.m. Officers followed it into a wild area, west of Wyoming Avenue where the call had originated and assume the bear found a safe place.
