As I wrote here last week. This is your last newspaper if you have not subscribed. Sadly, we have to do this every year, but it is a simple fix - just send us a check for $48 and we can get you in the system, with you never missing a single edition of the Press. You can re-subscribe online if that is your thing, just go to chisagocountypress.com and click on subscribe. Once again, thank you for reading!

This weekend is one of my favorites at Winehaven. This is their annual Raspberries & Wine Festival. On top of fantastic raspberry wine, you will be treated to vineyard tours, wine tasting, multiple food trucks, vendors and my favorite - wine slushies. The festival runs Saturday and Sunday from 11 am to 5 pm, See you there!

Gammelgarden Museum in Scandia is holding its largest celebration on Saturday. You are invited to “Midsommar Dag” which is the most important Swedish holiday of the year. The Majstang (a giant May pole) is decorated with flowers and raised for everyone’s enjoyment. All of the historic buildings will be open for viewing as well as an arts and crafts fair, a kubb demonstration (if you have never played it, you really should give it a try), children’s games and lots of food choices. The celebration will run from 10 am until 1 pm and is located in downtown Scandia, 20880 Olinda Trail.

There is a bit of serenity that comes from having your child’s graduation party over and done with. I can’t tell you how long we would look at the weather to see if it was going to rain or not, or how many times in one week I can mow the lawn so it looks good for the party. Finally, ime to relax, let it rain and let the grass grow. If you see me walking in the jungle (my yard) leave me be - I am decompressing.
