Bill was born February 8, 1940 to Clifford and Inez Holt in Franconia Township.
When he was 4-years-old, the family moved to a farm in Palmdale, MN. He attended Taylors Falls school and graduated in 1958.
He went right to work at Alexander Construction Company with his brother Jack. In 1975, he started with International Mill Service with North Star Steel in St. Paul where he worked until retirement in 2003. He was a very proud member of International Union of Operating Engineers Local 49.
Bill was preceded in death by his parents Clifford and Inez, sisters Dona May, Averil, Beverly and Gayle, brothers Jack and Gary.
Bill was united in marriage to A. LaVonne Marshall (Bonnie) November 4, 1961 in Almelund, MN.
He built his first house in 1962 just outside of Lindstrom, where he and his wife raised their three children. In 1992, he built his second home which is still occupied today.
He is survived by his wife Bonnie of 57 ½ years; sons Steven (Kate Gilmore), Scott (Sherry) and daughter Susan (Jon) Hanson; six grandchildren: Jennifer (Brad) Haider, Jacob (Michelle) Bjork, Kevin (Kate Reinitz) Holt, Emma, William and Nathan Holt, and five great grandchildren Karlee and Sydnee Bjork, Sydney Reinitz, Ava and Brecken Haider.
He was happiest doing any kind of work with his family, such as going to California with one of his grandsons to put in a new kitchen floor for his sister.
He helped start and run the family maple syrup business. He enjoyed working on projects with his kids, taking grandkids fishing and restoring his 1929 Ford Model A. Bill and his young family joined Trinity Lutheran Church in 1972.
Bill’s family would like to extend a special thank you to St. Croix Hospice, mainly Sarah, Sharon and Deb, and to Trinity Lutheran Church Pastors Terry Nordheim and Karri Anderson.
Bill was greatly loved and will truly be missed by family and friends.
