He went right to work at Alexander Construction Company with his brother Jack. In 1975, he started with International Mill Service with North Star Steel in St. Paul where he worked until retirement in 2003. He was a very proud member of International Union of Operating Engineers Local 49.
Bill was preceded in death by his parents Clifford and Inez, sisters Dona May, Averil, Beverly and Gayle, brothers Jack and Gary.
Bill was united in marriage to A. LaVonne Marshall (Bonnie) November 4, 1961 in Almelund, MN.

He was happiest doing any kind of work with his family, such as going to California with one of his grandsons to put in a new kitchen floor for his sister.
He helped start and run the family maple syrup business. He enjoyed working on projects with his kids, taking grandkids fishing and restoring his 1929 Ford Model A. Bill and his young family joined Trinity Lutheran Church in 1972.
Bill’s family would like to extend a special thank you to St. Croix Hospice, mainly Sarah, Sharon and Deb, and to Trinity Lutheran Church Pastors Terry Nordheim and Karri Anderson.
