So my family had a few days to spend together on my daughter’s final spring break as a high school student.  So of course with our President trying to muddy the waters at the border, where else would we decide to go? Mexico of course.  We have a place that we have been to multiple times where the only route to get there is to drive into Mexico from Arizona.  

Before you start thinking I was putting my family’s life in jeopardy, the spot we stay at is only 90 minutes into Mexico and is in the Mexico/American Free Zone.  That means we don’t have to worry about Pesos or changing out money.

It is amazing there, so close to home (USA) but with the feel of a total different world. An unbelievably slow world that moves at a snail’s pace.  Perfect for an old guy like me.  The weather was great and we had yet another great time.  Oh, and the crossing into and out of Mexico? I bet we spent a combined time (coming and leaving) at the border crossing of 45 seconds.  Must be because we are so honest looking - boy are they fooled.

This week the Chisago Lakes High School will host it’s 50th annual variety show.  This year’s theme will be “History in the Making”.  I have been to every variety show for the last 15 years and they never disappoint.  This year’s show runs tonight through Saturday with all shows beginning at 7 pm at the PAC.   Tickets can be purchased at the door or online on the school’s website.  See you there!
