Chuck is survived by his wife of 56 years Karen; daughters, Jodeen Johnson and Rebecca (David) Carlson; grandchildren Alex (Stephanie), Abigail and Allison Carlson, and great grandson Brooks along with many other relatives and dear friends.
Charles W. Johnson was born March 18, 1939 to Leslie and Eunice (Oman) Johnson in Minneapolis, MN. He grew up in Almelund and Center City. He played varsity sports starting in 7th grade until he graduated from Lindstrom/Center City High School. Upon graduation he joined the U.S. Navy and was stationed in Japan for over a year.
Chuck married the love of his life, Karen (Olson) Johnson, on October 13, 1962 in Cushing, WI. He worked at Honeywell and they lived in Fridley for the first few years until he joined the family drywall business and moved to Lindstrom, where they raised their girls. He was an active member of the community, playing ball, coaching youth baseball and softball, and was an umpire for the rec association for many years. Chuck loved playing and watching sports, he enjoyed snowmobiling, and camping. He also was a volunteer as a Lindstrom Deputy, and a member of the Hiram Lodge. Chuck served the local VFW and was a member at Trinity Lutheran Church in Lindstrom.
Chuck loved life, people, and having a lot of fun. He was the life of the party and he was always joking around. He loved to make people laugh. What brought Chuck the most joy though, were his girls and being a Grandpa. Nothing made him more proud and loved than how his girls and three grandkids made him feel. Being their Grandpa was the best thing ever.
A Celebration of Life will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday, May 4, 2019 at Trinity Lutheran Church in Lindstrom with visitation from 9 -11 a.m. at church. Interment at Hillside Cemetery in Center City.
