Multiple fire complaints were received over the week all across the county, during an open burning ban.  When DNR restricts burning,  such as the advisory in place, please don’t have large debris fires.  If you are in doubt, call local police or sheriff’s information numbers and check first.  Small, well-tended recreational fires are okay if they’re allowed where you are. ‘Small’ is three-by-three feet and the same height for the flames-- and attended means you are right there with a source of water.

April 28 a couple of grass fires were reported that Almelund and Lindstrom fire departments responded to, one was reported about 4 p.m. on 256th Street and the other resulted in a citation, on Nelson Road, Amador Township. About an acre burned in this incident reported at 2 p.m.

Also April 28 about 6:25 a.m. a one-vehicle crash sent a female driver to the hospital. The incident was on County Road 19 at Hemingway, in Lent Township.  The car was eastbound and the driver said she fell asleep and the car crashed. Stacy-Lent Fire Department provided extrication.

April 27 a fire was handled by Harris F.D., at an address on 455th Street, with assistance from DNR and North Branch firefighters.  This was reported about 1:20 p.m.

April 25 a dog-on-dog attack resulted in one of the animals being pronounced a “potentially dangerous dog” and subject to special restrictions should the owner opt to remain in town. The dog complaint incident was at an address on Neal Avenue, Lindstrom.

About 6 p.m. an alarm sounded at an address on Mentzer Trail, in Lindstrom and Lakes Area with Lindstrom Fire Dept. officials, checked out the residence, with no fire found.

At 11 p.m. a party called in a tree branch  igniting a spark on a powerline at Third Avenue in Lindstrom. Lakes Area Police stayed on scene until Xcel Energy could send a response truck.

April 23 a dogbite incident reported by a FedX delivery person.  Incident happened at an address in Nessel Township on Bayview Ave.  The company and authorities working with the animal owner, are following up.
