An unusual number of phone-scammers reported over the week. The local subjects said they received various calls from persons claiming to be with Xcel, from the IRS and from Social Security asking for account details and payments in some instances.  DO NOT give any personal information by phone to an unsolicited contact.

Sunday, October 6 The county SWAT team was sent to an address on Falcon Avenue in rural Stacy about 2 p.m. on a suspected domestic situation. The woman was being treated at the emergency room and dispatch was contacted and told she advised care providers the spouse had access to firearms at their house.  Suspect was detained and any potential incident was avoided.

Tools and other items reported stolen from pole building in Taylors Falls.

A trailer being pulled by a car went off the road at Wild River State Park. No injury.

October 4 Items stolen from a garage on 4th Street in Rush City reported. Garage could not be secured due to broken lock.

Homecoming October 4 in Chisago Lakes created some law enforcement activity. A “fight” was called in about 9 p.m. at the high school grounds but officers did not find any evidence of any assault.  One e-cigarette use was cited and a student appearing to be under the influence of a substance was evaluated and sent home with a parent about 11 p.m.

October 3 Lakes Area officer was asked to assist at a “shooting” at an address on Goodview Avenue in Wyoming about 6 a.m.  However, it was determined the subject had shot himself with a 45 calber handgun.  Firearm was recovered in a nearby pond by a diver with magnetic search gear.
A Chisago City woman reported to Lakes Area Police she’d been asked to pay for a puppy she’d seen on a Facebook page by sending a $300 Walmart gift card.  The seller would meet her at a certain place at a specified time to deliver the puppy-- but never showed.

October 1 An unoccupied trailer home in Stacy was broken into and vandalized.  

Also a mail delivery was stolen and the empty box left next to the mailbox, on 450th in Sunrise Township.
