Eunice Arlene Anderson, age 92, died at Parmly on the Lake in Chisago City on September 14, 2019.  She was born to Arnold and Edith (Carlson) Johnson on March 28, 1927 in Lindstrom.  She graduated from Lindstrom-Center City High School in 1944 and then completed two years of studies at Gustavus Adolphus College.

Eunice married Louis Anderson in 1946 after he returned home from serving in World War II.  They lived with his family near Almelund for five years before buying their first home in Center City. In 1957 they purchased land just east of town where they built a new home and raised their family of six children. Together they opened a Zenith franchise called Center City Electronics. Eunice also worked part time as a bookkeeper for several other local businesses and operated her own craft shop for a few years. She was the Chisago Lake Lutheran Church office secretary from 1985-1992. Eunice and Louis moved to the Parmly campus in 2009. Her two priorities in life were faith and family. Eunice provided a loving home and gave individual attention to each of her children and grandchildren. She was active in church and many community organizations. She served on the Chisago Lakes Area School Board from 1975-1989, volunteered with the Chisago Lakes Hospital Auxiliary and delivered Meals on Wheels. She wrote a supplement to Chisago Lake Lutheran Church’s centennial history which covered the years 1954-2004 and was published under the title “150 Years of Ministry”.

Eunice was preceded in death by her husband Louis, a sister Kathleen, and a brother Lloyd.

She is survived by her brother Orville Johnson; six children and their spouses: Gordon and Mary Jane Anderson, Wayne and Debra Anderson, Joan and Rick Siegel, Gary and Bonnie Anderson, Barbara and Mark Wikelius, and Sarah Anderson; 17 grandchildren and 17 great-grandchildren.

Funeral service will be held at 11 a.m., Friday, September 20, 2019 at Chisago Lake Lutheran Church, Center City with a visitation one hour prior to the service.

Interment will be in the Hillside Cemetery, Center City. Arrangements are with  Grandstrand Funeral Home. Condolences may be expressed online at www.grand strandfh.com.
