On Friday, the good folks that put on the Chisago City Farmers Market invite everybody to the market.  They are celebrating Heritage Days with a hispanic theme.  Along with a Mexican food truck, there will be a mexican market and even a mariachi band playing.  You can even make a mexican wrestling mask at the arts in the park table. The  farmer’s market takes place every Friday at Moberg Park in downtown Chisago City and runs from 4-6 pm.

This weekend North Branch says goodbye to summer officially with their annual Fall Harvest Festival.

The event runs three days beginning Friday with a beer and wine sampling at the Chisago County Senior Center followed be a dinner and live music.  The tasting and good times begins at 5:30 pm.

Saturday you are invited to an art, craft and commercial fair in Central Park.  The vendors will be available from 9 am to 4 pm.

There will be a classic car show held at Anderson Koch Ford, a 5k run that benefits the Shine Kody Shine charity (meet at the high school at 10 am to register), a pet expo at Peterson’s as well as the movie “Sing” in Central Park at 7 pm.

Sunday the American Legion will host an omelet breakfast that runs from 8am to 12:30pm.  At 10:30am St. Gregory’s will begin serving their awesome booya. The booya feed runs until gone or 1 pm.  


 You would have to be from Mars to not notice all of the solar fields in our county.  Seems like everywhere you look someone is putting in a new solar field or garden.  
The one aspect of solar that is a bit harder to see is those that are actually on homes and that directly assist with powering those homes.  On October 5 there will be a solar tour of a private home in the area and the public is invited.  

The house is located on 309th Street in Shafer and is part of a National Solar Tour.  The public is invited to stop by to see the panels and learn about the family’s solar experience.  The family will have an  electric car on display and also talk about their efforts to become a Monarch Butterfly Way Station.
The tour runs from 10 am to 3 pm with light appetizers and beverages available.

Congratulations to St. Croix Regional Medical Center for turning the big 100!  The people that make up SCRMC are some of the nicest people you would ever hope to meet.  We switched our family care to SCRMC years ago and have been completely happy with every aspect of care. Here is to another 100 years!
