June was born on March 13, 1925 in Camden, Missouri to parents, Loren and Flora (Duncan) Knowles. She attended school through the 9th grade and married John M. Carpenter on June 10, 1940 at the courthouse in Lexington, Missouri. June worked at Sears and also at a soda fountain while John served in the military. She became a homemaker and stay at home mom when her daughter Cheryl was born. She loved to read, socialize with family and friends and spend time with John and their travel club. She cherished her 25 years walking the Columbia Mall with her walking group.
June is survived by her daughter, Cheryl (George) Lindahl of North Branch and her granddaughter, Tamra Lindahl of Minneapolis. She is preceded in death by her parents and the love of her life for 67 years, John in 2008.
A Celebration of Life Service and interment will take place later this summer. Arrangements are under the direction and care of Grandstrand Funeral Home in North Branch. Condolences maybe expressed online at www.grandstrandfh.com
