Lakes Area Police patrol cars participated in five birthday party “drive-bys” and in one 50th wedding anniversary parade for the week ending April 19.

One threat of suicide resulted in transporting a person to a hospital for monitoring and care.

April 13 sheriff’s deputies receive report of large deposit of trash on a parcel on 341st Street in Lent Township. Owner was excavating for a pole building and discovered the contamination.

April 14 Lindstrom Fire Dept. was sent to a report of smoke coming from a business downtown, on Highway 8, about 7:50 p.m.  Turned out to be an exhaust vent and no fire was detected.
Multiple reports of vandalism activity in the Lakes Area Police service area over the week, the incidents include graffiti and public property (bridge) damage.

April 15
Vehicle went into a pond off 302nd in Lent Township. Reported about 3 p.m.  No injuries and vehicle got towed out.

April 17
Juvenile on an ATV spotted by deputy in Harris on Forest Boulevard. Pulled over at Stark Road and rider was unable to produce an ATV certificate. Cited and advised of rules. Incident happened about 1:30 p.m.

Female arrested by deputy when a vehicle went off the road on 525th St. in Rushseba Township. Located about 7:20 p.m. Alcohol allegedly in vehicle open and suspect had just purchased beer at local store.

Adult arrested on southbound ramp out of Rush City, approximately 11:35 p.m. Cited for DUI.

April 18
Cambridge and DNR firefighters went to a fire that got out of control on Stark Road in Fish Lake Township, about 5 p.m. Dead tree branches caught right above fire pit, couldn’t contain.

Also a field caught fire in Amador Township, when a small recreational fire wasn’t contained,  about 3 p.m.  Almelund Fire Dept. took care of. Site was on 410th Street.

April 19 barn fire reported on Elmcrest Avenue in Nessel Township. Called in about 7:40 p.m. No injuries reported.

Vehicle caught fire in Almelund about 9:15 p.m. Owner from Sturgeon Lake MN.  Almelund Fire handled. No injury resulted.
