Robert Gene Christie, age 84, of Lindstrom, died Wednesday, April 15, 2020, at his home.

Robert was born October 7, 1935, in Hanover, KS to A.M. and Ida (Nebbergall) Christie.  He attended Baker University until drafted in 1958 and then Robert served in the U.S. Army.  He was united in marriage to Darlene Long on September 22, 1963.  Robert was then employed with Burlington Northern Railroad until he retired in 1991.  He was a past member of First United Methodist Church in Lindstrom and the Masonic Lodge.  Robert enjoyed hunting, fishing, and watching sports.

Robert was preceded in death by his parents, A.M. and Ida and a brother, Richard.  

He is survived by his loving wife of 56 years, Darlene; his daughter Tera and her son Dylan; and his son Tony (Amanda) and their children, Luke and Amelia; and other family and friends.  

No services are planned according to current health and safety concerns; however, Robert will be laid to rest at Fort Snelling with plans for a future service left open.  Arrangements were handled by Grandstrand Funeral Home in Lindstrom.  Condolences may be expressed at www.grandstrandfh.com.
