August 2 a motorcycle speeding on I-35 southbound about 120 mph was followed for a time by a sheriff deputy on patrol around Harris, but he stopped with traffic getting heavy.  A state patrol helicopter picked up the suspect and the arrest was made in the metro.

A snowmobile water-skipping adventure didn’t pan out as planned on Chisago Lake. The sled landed in the lake. DNR granted the owner 24 hours to remove it and word is the extrication happened swiftly. No injuries reported.

August 1 A stolen Xcel truck was recovered by Lakes Area after being left near Isabel and Hwy. 8 in Chisago City, after being taken from Forest Lake.

July 31 Lakes Area Police assisted when a tree branch was cut and fell on a powerline, a breaker blew and Xcel Energy was dispatched. Incident happened about 10:20 a.m. on Green Lake Avenue Chisago City.  Power was restored quickly.

July 30 About 5 p.m. sheriff deputies went to an ATV crash involving a male who was suffering a medical event, while driving on Belle Isle Drive, Nessel. The man was airlifted to North Memorial, where he later died. (See NEWS section)

Theft of a bike in Stacy, reported sometime during the day. Bike is a Trek 830, yellow in color and valued at $1,500. If you observe it call authorities.

July 29 cars gone through overnight in Center City. Mostly miscellaneous items are missing, one vehicle on Busch Avenuse had two laptops inside which were taken.
Lakes Area had reports of vehicles gone through in Chisago City in the area of Stinson and Railroad.

July 28 in the neighborhood aroound Jocelyn Avenue reports of residential burglary, a trailcam has images police are looking into.
