August 9 a pickup truck rolled, apparently a few times, as it went off St. Croix Trail near Mica Avenue in Sunrise. Almelund Fire Dept. and Lakes Area EMS helped deputies at the scene.  State patrol is writing report, which was not available at press time.

August 6
A suspected drunk driver was found in another rollover crash that a deputy patrol came upon, at #14 and 347th about 9 p.m.  Driver went to Wyoming hospital.
A vehicle was reported stolen from address on Busch in Center City. Keys had gone missing the week before in a rash of vehicle tampering incidents in same area.

Plants, product and profits seized in pot bust
An alleged marijuana grow operation was visited by SWAT and local sheriff patrol, August 4, to assist in Stanchfield, in northwest Chisago County.  

According to the East Central Drug Task Force there were 475 live marijuana plants, cash and finished product seized.

A 47-year-old male and 47 year-old female property owner were charged with second degree possession.  This is not their first arrest, the Task Force said they were charged in 2019 with a similar offense.  The homeowner, Marjorie Katherine Kammeyer was not booked.  Elvis Hanes was brought to be processed at the county jail.

Lakes Area Police came upon two young children locked in a car in a parking lot in Chisago City. The mother was tacked down inside of the hotel served by the lot, and she was “unaware” the kids were in the vehicle.  Chisago County Child Protective Services was called in.
