I just wanted to say that I have spoken with Chisago City and their committee heading up Ki Chi Saga Days. They have weighed the pros and cons of holding the event and they wanted to assure you there are no events that will put the health of the attendees in jeopardy. The craft show has been altered for maximum spacing, the bands are now playing in the park with tons of space for social distance as well as to enjoy the fireworks. They would like to remind people to wear masks whenever possible and to abide with CDC guidelines for social distancing.
Now to the events, beginning today (Thursday) the annual city-wide garage sale begins with a list of sales that can be found on page 14. Friday the garage sales continue as well as the weekly farmer’s market that has been going all summer long. The sweet corn right now is amazing by the way.
Saturday there is a paddle event hosted by the Chisago-Lindstrom Lakes Association. Beginning at 9am, you can paddle from the dock in Center City and manuever your way across the lakes eventually ending at Paradise Park around 11:30 am. Food trucks will be at Moberg Park on Hwy. 8 if you work up an appetite. If you need to rent a kayak give Captain Shawn a call at 651-769-3343.
Beginning at noon in Moberg Park there will be live music as well as the mentioned food trucks and a craft show. The events in the park include the bands Uncle Chunk and The World According to Garth. The day is capped off with fireworks over the lake at dusk.
Sunday the day picks up with more garage sales as well as the craft show with more music featuring The Devon Worley Band and Jonah and the Whales. Plenty to do - see you there!
While the Chamber golf tournament is full, there is another tourney to take part in. The Chisago Lakes Rotary Golf Tournament has openings for its golf event. Send an email to [email protected] and let them know you are interested. The event is September 15 and if we have seen anything from other tournaments, this will fill quickly as well.
