I would encourage you to please take the survey which can be found on the Chisago Lakes Area Chamber of Commerce website. Once there, you will see a blue button that says Broadband Survey. That will take you to a page that has the very easy and brief survey and a Internet loading speed test.
If you participate with the survey and the test by December 14, you will be entered in a drawing to win a $100 gift card from Brink’s Market and/or Wally Carlson’s BP gas station.
This Sunday, Chisago City has its annual tree lighting festival.
As with many things right now, the state of the state has altered life as we know it. Good news though, your kids can still see Santa and drop their Christmas wish list off. From 5pm to 7pm, Moberg Park in downtown Chisago City will turn into a Christmas wonderland where kids and parents will be able to drive thru where elves will take all of the wish lists and see Santa in his sleigh. Thanks to all the people who helped put this together in an instant when the executive orders came down.
Saturday: Santa, the Chisago Lakes Rotary Club and the Chisago City Fire Department will be collecting toys, non-perishable food items and money while driving around Chisago City. They will be collecting them to assist families throughout the Chisago Lakes area who are struggling in these tough times. Toys will be donated to the local Anonymous Santa program which is unbelievably awesome in making holidays magical. They are asking for new unwrapped toys valued at $5 to $20. They ask that you please leave donations on the curb and stand back in yards to keep people safe.
Here is something really neat, you can text Santa when you see him approaching your yard and he will shout out your child’s name when he sees them.
See page six for times and routes of Santa and his helpers and the text number--- and as always thank you so much for helping out!
Sunday, the folks at Chisago Lake Lutheran Church in Center City would like to invite everyone for a drive-thru visit with St. Nicholas.
Well news of the vaccine is certainly cause for slight celebration, even if it is among some of the darkest days we have endured yet in the pandemic. The speed of which these vaccines have been created, tested and now close to approved is absolutely mind boggling. The mere fact that the end of the tunnel is within sight is hard to put into words. Obviously getting the vaccines to the elderly, the health workers and people with compromised health will immediately impact the bottom line as far as deaths. Just hold on folks, we are almost out of the storm.
Sunday the good folks at Chisago Lake Lutheran Church have something special for you and your family. Beginning at 5pm, you are invited to come enjoy a drive thru with St. Nicholas. You will be treated to live Christmas music, a nativity scene and of course St. Nick. There will be treats for the kids This will all take place in the upper parking lot just off Summit Avenue. They do ask that you please bring a toy for the Anonymous Santa program. See you there!
