He worked for Minnegasco as a repairman and parts specialist for over 40 years. He was a long-time member of Gustavus Adolphus Lutheran Church in Minneapolis and the American Swedish Institute. In his youth, he spent summers farming with his uncles in Barron County, Wisconsin. He had a life-long interest in farms and farm machinery. At one point, he rented an extra garage where he kept a tractor in town in Chisago City. He and Dorothy Swanson were married August 5th, 1950; he loved visiting and working on her parents’ farm near North Branch. He was a veteran of World War II.
He was preceded in death by his parents; Fritz and Helga, his brother James, and his wife Dorothy. He worked hard caring for Dorothy for the last 10 years of her life, as she suffered from Alzheimer’s disease He is survived by his children, David (Pamela) Benson and Linda (Thomas) Warner, and his grandchildren, Jonas, Lars, Madeline, and Samuel.
