December 13 a four-wheeler vehicle went through the ice on West Rush Lake about 2:40 p.m. Owners were having it pulled out.
Another passenger vehicle went off Belle Isle Drive and into East Rush Lake, reported about 3 p.m. Icy road surface caused the accident, sending car down an embankment and it went into the lake. No serious injury noted by responding deputy.
December 12 a call about burning at an address on Inwood Avenue, Chisago City about 6:40 p.m. Authorities found prohibited materials and ordered the fire pit extinguished.
An ATV crash reported off 450th in Harris, about 5 p.m. Lakes Region EMS transported the injured party, with a suspected broken ankle.
December 11
About 6 p.m. a plane reportedly crashed, see photo to right, hitting trees off Panola Drive, south of Lindstrom, in Franconia Township. The sheriff’s deputy responding spoke with a neighbor/witness who said it was just after dusk and the ultralight aircraft clipped treetops and went down into the tree line. The pilot had freed himself and made his way to an RV in a pole building, where the deputy gave first aid to wounds and waited for an ambulance. The victim is identified as Eric Duane Rasmussen, 64, of the same Franconia address as the incident. The ultralight is reported to be an Air Creation Racer. No word yet on what caused the loss of altitude. Rasmussen was transported to Regions for medical attention and aviation authorities notified.
A vehicle left running in Stacy was reported stolen. Radio alert caught the car in Anoka County, where authorities spotted it on #65, but lost visual.
A chicken coop reported on fire at address on Andrews Ave. in Lindstrom, about 10 a.m. Lakes Area officer and Lindstrom firefighters nearby took care of the fire and Lindstrom Fire Dept. was called out to secure the site.
Several people partying approximately 5 p.m., in a driveway on Park Trail, rural Center City, were reported for disturbance. Sheriff personnel ended up making three arrests; two women with local warrants and a male with a Hennepin County warrant. Charges pending for incident include DUI and drug possession.
December 10
No report was available for a T-bone style crash at Green Lake Trail, near the boat access. Lakes Area Police were called to assist deputies about 1:40 p.m.
