Johnathan Matthew Croy, 29, was the subject of a community notice meeting in North Branch, last February 2020 held at Lakes Region Emergency Medical Services headquarters. (Story in Press Feb. 13.) In the past year, he had moved away from the rural North Branch address— but as of this month officials were notified Croy would return to reside in a rental property, near 360th and County Road 14.
According to the search data on the MN Corrections website, Croy is listed as the only Level Three sex offender living in the county at this time.
Level Three offenders have been subject to community notification since 1997. The offenders are evaluated and classified at various levels for most likely to re-offend and severity of offenses. At a Level Three the public is informed of address and conditions on the offender’s release. The state is not required to hold another public information meeting when the same offender who has been the topic of a meeting, is moving to an area where a meeting has already been held.
Croy is under lifetime conditional release. He is not allowed to be in the company of juveniles or teens. He served sentences for third, first and fourth degree criminal sexual offenses which involved male and female victims.
