Adele “Marie” Ostrom Taylor, age 82, passed away peacefully on December 18, 2019, in Bedford, VA.

Marie was born October 23, 1937 to John H and Wanda N (Hellerud) Ostrom and grew up in Lindstrom, MN.  She was baptized and confirmed at Trinity Lutheran Church and graduated from Lindstrom Center City High School in 1956.  From there she went on to business school in Minneapolis, and then to St Cloud State College where she completed a teaching degree.

In St. Cloud, Marie met and married Robert Taylor from Alexandria, MN.  They moved to Maryland in 1967 where Marie worked for the Prince George’s County School System for over 30 years as a classroom teacher and a reading specialist.  

In retirement she lived in Lindstrom, Florida and Virginia.  She enjoyed living near family and making many trips to Australia.

Marie is survived by Robert Taylor of Edina, MN;  daughter Anne and her husband Don Elliott, of Melbourne, Australia;  son John and his wife Rachel, of Goode, VA;  grandchildren Karolina Elliott, Brendan Elliott and Wyatt Taylor;  sister Norma (Ostrom) Magnuson of New Hope, MN;  brother Mark Ostrom of Lindstrom, MN.

A memorial service will be held Thursday, January 9, at Trinity Lutheran Church in Lindstrom, at 11 a.m., followed by lunch.  Visitation with the family will be held prior to the service, beginning at 10 a.m.
