Arrest made in Dec. 26 Wyoming assault and missing baby incident
Wyoming Police, with help from Chisago County, State Patrol, Lakes Area and White Bear Lake Police, and Anoka and Ramsey County Sheriff’s Offices-- successfully concluded what started as a rolling domestic incident, and turned into what was reported as a car theft and an alleged kidnapping.

Wyoming patrol responded to a call from Holiday Station employees on Kettle River Blvd. about 2:30 p.m. December 26.

A woman was in the restroom and in distress.  Police reported finding her appearing to have been assaulted and she said her boyfriend, who she was traveling with from Hinckley, had hit her, taken her car outside the station, and her 6-month-old baby was in the car.
The woman was taken to the hospital.

Authorities put out a description and photo of the suspect and vehicle on the Internet.  Not long after, the baby was found at a residence in White Bear Lake unharmed.  The male suspect, a 37-year-old identified as Ben Tietz, has been in custody after being located a few hours later, with help from Anoka Sheriff investigators.

Overnight, on street parking violations continue in December.  Police are ticketing and writing warnings. Residents need to be aware there are parking prohibitions on city streets overnight until April, to facilitate plow trucks and street clearing.  If you need a special approval to park on the street, overnight, for a short term reason contact your local police department.

December 27 a structure fire on 263rd Street in Franconia, reported about noon. A Jacuzzi appears to be where the fire got its start.  Everybody got out safely and in a few hours the firefighters were able to clear.  Shafer-Center City and Taylors Falls fire departments sent personnel and equipment.
December 25 a house fire on Estate Drive in Rush City reported about 8 p.m.  Rush City responded. The residents were allowed to return after smoke was exhausted from the building from a smoking water heater.

Two dogs, not contained, were taken to Northwoods Humane Society by Lakes Area Police. They were collected on 284th Street about 3:30 p.m.
