The Chisago County Sheriff’s Office probably generates an initial complaint report almost every week on a report of a missing delivered item.  Last week, a watch, ordered for Christmas that Amazon tracking systems showed was left at a Franconia Township residence December 23,  still  had not turned up by Dec 30.  

A probable theft case  then requires Sheriff staff to open a case number and attach the report.  Amazon creates a file and lots of time and effort is expended on both ends pursuing an item.

Should you have a trusted neighbor to accept a package or you are able to accept delivery where you work, those are better options.

And now there is a secure delivery site, an Amazon locker, at Brink’s in Chisago City.

Brink’s has the only Amazon locker location in Chisago County at this time.  Amazon locker locations are found in Isanti, with others in Blaine, Arden Hills, Maplewood, New Brighton and well south of here.

Roger Brink told the Press Amazon had contacted the market and inquired about space for a locker wall.  Brink was happy to be able to offer his grocery customers this additional service. The store already sells postage stamps and provides a secured bill payment box for area waste haulers too.

Brink said the store doesn’t make anything from being a locker site, “and maybe they’ll (recipient) pick up a gallon  of milk or some bread when they stop in.”  He likes contributing to the convenience and customer peace of mind, when their item is out of the weather, secure and they can collect it anytime between 7 a.m. and 10 p.m.
Amazon also uses Brink’s  for returns.  The package transport companies pickup there as well as drop-off.
