Grace was born on September 23, 1947 to Stella and Joseph Morris in Minneapolis. She grew up in Minneapolis and graduated in 1965 from Roosevelt Senior High School. In 1975 she moved with her husband, Glenn Otte, to a farm in Center City. She would later divorce and move to Lindstrom, MN. Grace worked as a Financial Worker for Chisago County Health and Human Services for 30 years, retiring in 2010.
On September 16, 1995 Grace married Tom Waldoch and they happily resided in Lindstrom until her passing. Grace was the most generous and caring person, who will always be remembered for her kind heart and positive outlook on life. She loved to spend time with her family and attended as many of her grandkid’s activities as she could, always their biggest cheerleader. She was an active part of her book club and looked forward to getting together with friends each week for coffee. She loved to crochet and knit and always had a project she was working on. Grace was an avid dog lover with her favorite breed being Norwegian Elkhounds. She fostered numerous dogs throughout the years and her family loved to tease her about her “foster fails” as there were numerous occasions she decided to keep the dogs herself, instead of having to part with them.
Grace is preceded in death by her mother and father, Stella and Joseph Morris and sister Eva Elsasser. She will be lovingly remembered by husband Tom Waldoch; daughter Rachell (Todd) Franceen; sons Aaron (Jackie) Otte and Bryan Otte; step-children, Rick (Tanya) Waldoch, Rochelle Waldoch and Rani Waldoch; sister Pam (Steve) Ungericht; nephews Allan Porter and Joe (Adonica) Ungericht; nieces Heather (Matt) Wehrenberg and Tammy (Dave) Elsasser;
Nine grandchildren Devin, Cade, Croix, Everett, Adelia, Trevon, Miranda, Dillon and Rikki; great-grandchild Louis and many other extended family members.
An open house Celebration of Life service will be held on Sunday, February 9, 2020 from noon-5pm at: Chisago Lake Town Hall, 12400 316th Street, Lindstrom, MN 55045
