Blue Monday has finally affected me; grab your date - it's polka time
As we hit a lull in the events calendar, it gives us here at the Press a chance to begin planning and putting together our annual Chisago Lakes Activities Guide.
For those of you who haven't seen it, the Guide is close to 100 pages and is filled with tons of local information including events, celebrations, local hot spots, things to see, eat, do - you name it. We have seen the guide grow from a 28 page black and white book to a 100 page full color beautiful piece that people turn to all year long.
The guide goes out to thousands of Chisago County homes and is circulated all year long at local businesses. The guide won't come out for a little while, that is why I am publicly reaching out to local businesses who have thought about advertising in the guide but have yet to do so. Don't miss it! Call us at 651-257-5115 or email us at [email protected] for more information. It may be the best advertising expenditure you can make during the year. Your ad appears all year long with new eyes seeing it every week. We can help you create a beautiful inviting ad that will convey your brand and message to thousands. Hope to hear from you soon.
This Saturday the City of Lindstrom and the Lindstrom Park Board would like to invite all - yes all of you- to their popular Polka Party. The event will take place from 6-9 pm at the Lindstrom Community Center. The Chmielewski Funtime Band will play and Deutschland Meats will have food and drink for your enjoyment. Here is the best part - it’s free. Not the food, but the event is.
Many people have been asking about Celebration of the Lakes. Is it going to happen? When will it be? The Celebration of the Lakes’ date has moved to Valentine’s Day weekend. They did this to ensure the ice would be satisfactory to hold an event without the possibility of being cancelled.
Now we just need the weather to hold up. I will write more about it in the future, just put it on your radar so you can plan accordingly.
It sounds like the ice carousel is a go this year. Chisago Lakes Rotary is going to have a 100 plus foot diameter disc of ice that will revolve like a carousel and will feature a bar with games such as corn hole and more. It will be right next to the radar runs and the kitty kat snowmobile races and by the Lions ice fishing contest. Sounds awesome!
