Of special interest are two very rare Swedish “quiltas” - embroidered wool batts - from the late 1800’s, a wonderful Log Cabin quilt from the 1870’s, a unique yo-yo quilt from the 1930’s, a fabulous embroidered signature quilt, an unusual 1900 floral applique quilt with hand-dyed fabric and intricate hand-quilted motifs, and an 1868 Grover and Baker sewing machine.
The community is invited to stop in and take a look. There are also interesting displays on immigration, early farm tools, medical/optical/pharmaceutical equipment and country schools.
The museum is open from 10-4 on Mon.,Tues., Friday and Saturday during the winter months. The quilt exhibit will be available until mid-May.
