Counterfeit bills continue to show up at area banks in business deposits, fake $20 bills were passed in Chisago City and Rush City last week.  Another criminal activity that faded away but has not disappeared is theft of catalytic convertors. Two incidents of these being removed from parked vehicles at Lent Twsp. and 17 park & ride and in Rush City, were reported to sheriff deputies.

A cellphone was used twice by drivers in traffic and they were ticketed.

A host of speeding tickets were issued in a law enforcement saturation in the Rush Lake Trail-Dakota Circle area last week.

Multiple complaints received at Lakes Area P.D. regarding plowing Fairview lots between 1 to 3 a.m.

Theft of a generator from Harris storage units on Stark Road.

Theft of blank checks and a 9 mm handgun from a vehicle parked on Patriot Avenue, Chisago Lake Twsp.

A suspect reported to be drunk and disorderly was detained/booked by sheriff deputies.  The call was to assist at a location on Rush Lake about 2:50 a.m.

January 24 the battery charger for a remote control item caught fire at a garage in Lindstrom on Morley. The homeowner put out the initial fire and local firefighters aired out the smoke.  Call was about 7:15  p.m.  

January 25 an open entry to a building in the Wyoming Industrial Park was checked out about 1:30 a.m. by a sheriff K9 unit.  Nobody was found.

January 26 two reports of natural gas smell sent firefighters and Xcel crews out One was about 10 a.m. at Itasca Court, Chisago City and one was on Newell Avenue Lindstrom about 6:30 p.m.
