Keith Perry

The man, the myth, the legend.  Men wanted to be him, and women wanted to be with him.  He may or may not have started this rumor himself.

Keith Douglas Perry passed away suddenly in his sleep on July 20, 2020.  He was 63 years old.  He was born to Robert and Phyllis (France) Perry in Pine City, MN and spent most of his years in Chisago City, MN.  He graduated from there in 1975 ensuring many teachers had earned their living.  He married Kathy Weinreich in 1976 and started a family, also joining the Marine Corps that same year.  He later moved to Chetek, WI for several years where he raised beef cattle while also continuing a life-long passion for trucking.

A favorite hobby was to not only connect with his wide circle of friends on Facebook, but also to speak his uncensored mind while eluding “Facebook Jail” for doing so.

He spent a lot of time picking, polishing and cutting stones, excitedly making some into jewelry that he shared with as many others as possible.  He had several motorized “toys” that were given ladies’ names so we could decipher which of his “girlfriends” he was talking about, even taking “Ruby the Harley” on a trip one summer to all four corners of the United States.

He mostly liked to explore – music, nature, people, and life.  He wanted to know something about everything.  He was always helping his family and friends, giving whatever he could along the way.  He was an all-around good guy who hated snow, vegetables, and a tough steak.  As he would say, “What’s left of poor Keithie has blown away.”

Keith is preceded in death by his father, Robert and his brother Lee.

He is survived by his mother, Phyllis; sons Shane (Ricky), Justin (Sharon), and Josh (Jessica); grandson Hunter; brothers, Leslie (Mary) and Wayne; and the mother of his children Kathy Weinreich.

A Celebration of Life will be held 2–5 p.m. Saturday, July 25, 2019 at Grandstrand Funeral Home in Lindstrom, MN.  A private interment will take place at a later date in Chetek, Wisconsin.

Arrangements by Grandstrand Funeral Home in Lindstrom.  Condolences may be expressed online at www. grandstrandfh.com
