Sheriff’s deputies responded to a 9-1-1 hangup call and found an unresponsive person at an address in Shafer on Shady Avenue about 9 a.m. The person was “revived” at nearby emergency room and another person in the residence had a warrant.
The National Weather Service has reviewed the area around Rush Lake where there was wind damage reported resulting from Saturday early morning severe weather. The Natl. Weather Service announced the area experienced an EF0 tornado, which lasted from about 1:24 a.m. to 1:27 a.m. It tracked from West Rush Lake to south Rush and peak wind speed was 80 mph.
Sheriff patrol received word of some property damage but no personal injuries.
The NWS is doing a survey on-line at its main website on (wording) terms for alerts when the service is tracking weather. If you can participate in the survey that would by appreciated, only takes about five mnutes.
July 18 fire and smoke reported at an address on Oak St. in Chisago City, about 4:45 p.m. Vented by Lindstrom Fire Dept. no injuries.
A boater on West Rush Lake cited for no PFDs for youngsters. Sheriff water patrol was out checking for damages due to severe weather and high wind earlier.
There was a motorcycle crash on I-35 near 217th in Forest Lake July 18, about 6 p.m. that sent a 32-year-old Forest Lake man to Regions. State patrol reports the weather caused the bike to go down (hail and heavy rain.) Injury suffered by Michael Joseph Bentfield was described as life threatening.
July 17 Wyoming Police were asked to arrest a possibly-armed suspect sought by Lino Lakes and Lakes Area Police went to assist, at an address on Goldman Blvd. The person was detained about 11 p.m. without incident.
The sheriff K9 unit dog Stryker and his handler went to a crash scene on Forest Blvd. and 274th about 9:30 p.m. to help find a person who had run from one of the vehicles. He was located and booked.
Deputies went to handle a dog bite report at Lorens Park in Center City about noon. All parties are cooperative and information was collected.
July 16 a male was taken to the hospital for a 72 hour hold after county dispatch was told that he was causing a disturbance about 11:20 p.m. on East Street in Chisago City.
There were multiple calls over last week reporting suspicious vehicles at night. When area police spoke with occupants in the vehicles being described they all said they were watching the comet, making a rare appearance this month.
A ring is being held at LAPD offices, turned in after being found at Lindstrom Liquor Store and nobody claimed it for a couple weeks. Call (Lindstrom) Police offices to describe.
July 16 a grill on a deck caught fire at an Olinda Trial address about 10 a.m. Lindstrom Fire took care of, no serious damages.
