ATV rider cited for violating rules of road and no registration, observed on all terrain vehicle in Rush City, Alger Ave. South.
May 30 sheriff patrol called to Eric’s Canoe Rental Taylors Falls to take complaint of shots fired when canoeists argued and traded poor language on the river. No weapon found.
Two vehicles were broken into in Sunrise on 370th Street, credit card reported stolen had been used immediately at WalMart, auto parts store and gas station.
Lakes Area Police were sent to look into a report of a vehicle being pushed into a car sales lot in Lindstrom at 4 a.m. Two 18-year-olds were cited for suspicion of drunk driving on the scene.
Sheriff’s personnel aided in a pursuit of a subject that fled a crashed vehicle. Search was around Lever St. and 389th in Cambridge-east Isanti County and into Pine around 8:30 a.m.
May 29 there was a three-car crash reported at Highway 95 and Pleasant Valley Road, Franconia Township. about 2:30 p.m. Preliminary information is a Honda Odyssey mini-van was stopped to turn left off northbound #95, when it was hit from behind by a Mazda 2. A third car behind the van decided to pull away and continue travel before the impact. Nobody was transported.
Another rear-end crash in North Branch at Branch Avenue on Main Street about a quarter to 1 p.m. First car was eastbound on Main waiting behind vehicle turning, was struck by third eastbound vehicle pushing it into original car. No serious injuries.
May 28 a male yellow Lab was taken to the NorthWoods Humane Society found as a stray in Chisago City.
May 27 a suspected gas leak reported on Latham Lane in Chisago City about 5 p.m. Nothing detected by responders.
Lakes Area Police issued multiple tickets for violating No Parking signs, posted on Stinson at Shoquist near the boat landing.
May 26 a motorcyclist was hit by a UPS truck, while both were southbound on Oasis Road, in Sunrise Township. UPS driver said he simply did not see the motorcycle. State Patrol was called to meet the truck operator and do an inspection. Motorcyclist was transported and is identified as 35 year old Matthew Magnuson. No details yet on his condition.
May 25 a burglary at address on Genesis Ave in Stacy reported around 2:15 p.m. A trailer and generator reported as stolen were recovered not long after-- on County Road 19 where the Volkswagen Jetta car pulling the trailer apparently broke down. The tow driver had information about the vehicle that had been attached to the trailer, and the case is being investigated.
