Taylors Falls Springs Inn motel experienced a fire in a central unit Friday,                                                          June 5 about 5:40 p.m.  The sheriff patrol preliminary report concluded that a smoker fell asleep and a cigarette ignited the fire.  There were three people and a dog in the structure at the time and all were accounted for and safe.  Springs Inn has been under remodelling activity so there were no patrons on-site.  No injuries were reported.  The state fire marshal investigator is looking into the damage.
