As of Monday this week Chisago County Public Health officials were reporting three confirmed COVID-19 cases.
The county had reported last week that two citizens tested positive for the virus, but it was determined later there had been confusion over residency of the first person and their permanent address is not in Chisago County. Officials with the county believe the individual may have been staying or working in the county, but the person does not permanently reside here.
Two new cases were announced as of Sunday night March 29, making for the total of three. The new cases are a male in his 60s and a female in her 40s.
The male was tested in a private lab and the Minnesota Department of Health has not been able to get a hold of him. Due to the fact the specimen was tested in a private lab, they only know that he tested positive.
The county official said the female was in isolation by Monday. She contracted the illness through contact with a known carrier of COVID-19 who resides outside of this county.
